What were you grateful for this week?Actually finding a good hostel.
What was the most challenging part of this week?I had to wash my host girl’s hair and suddenly it was the end of the world haha.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.Me and my host mom made brownies and ice cream today! I told her it’s one of my favorite desserts so she wanted to make some!
Tell us about your week! So this weekend I went to Florence! I have been super excited for this trip — my host family has been hyping me up for it for sure. I honestly didn’t even know what to do there. I had a couple reservations but when I’m traveling I kind of leave it up to chance and amazing things can happen!
When I got there I first saw the Cathedral which was absolutely stunning it took my breath away! Most cathedrals have amazing art on the inside but this one was all outside and I absolutely loved it.
After that I went and saw Michelangelo’s David and let me tell you, it was so so worth it. The David was AMAZING and everything I had hoped it would be. It just makes you feel some kind of way looking at the beautiful art piece that is hundreds of years old.
The Uffizi museum was after that and I saw the Birth of Venus and a couple other famous paintings there, some by Leonardo Da Vinci.
The Ponte Vecchio bridge was after that and it was so cute with its buildings built into the bridge.
Later that night I found a pizza place and met another American, then watched the sunset on one of the bridges! It really was a dream!
The next day I headed to Pisa to see the leaning tower, and then I had nothing else planned during the day. I somehow found myself on a rooftop terrace doing yoga during sunset though so I would say I had a pretty amazing time in Florence.
My time is getting shorter and shorter here and it’s made me really learn to live in the moment and appreciate the little things! ❤️
