What were you grateful for this week? For my incredible host family who has helped me get through this hard time.

What was the most challenging part of this week?I miss my host kid.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I left my host kid gifts and a painting of us because I know she will be really excited to see it when she gets back.

Tell us about your week! This week has been hard. One of my best friends from high school got married this weekend and I wasn’t able to be there for her. I am very homesick but things with my host family are great. We all get along and love the time we spend together. I get to help them all with their homework, the little that I can. We are really enjoying the cooler weather and get to go outside a little more without dying. The cousins have planted a vegetable and berry garden behind the house so we go on little adventures to see if there is anything ready to take back to the house.

This week I also miss my little girl because she is with her dad for the rest of the time that I am in Italy. I have had so much fun with her and I am really going to miss her and all of our fun adventures and games. She was literally the sweetest girl ever and I would love to keep in touch with her and maybe even come back to see her. This week I also got to show Nonna how to make the banana bread that they all love. It was really fun getting to share recipes with her. I can’t wait until I get home and I get to share all I have learned with my family.

Last week I took a little trip to Milan and I got to see some last-minute things and check some sightseeing off my bucket list. I also got to meet up with some girls from the program. The Duomo was so beautiful and I recommend that everyone see it!. It was a very nice little day trip.
