What were you grateful for this week?Beautiful albeit wet weather! So much better than the heat!

What was the most challenging part of this week? This week was my halfway mark! I am so sad it has flown by so fast!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I finally found some face cards so I can teach my family some of my favorite games!

Tell us about your week!

I had a great week with my family! My host mom took me shopping with all the sales going on in Italy. I went out to eat in Bra where we had pizza and pasta. The Americano pizza has French fries on it!

Friday morning I went to a pop-up market and explored and bought some souvenirs for my family. I met P in Venice Saturday afternoon and we went straight to Doge’s Palace. Riding the vaporetti, like a water bus, on the Grand Canal was a great introduction to the city on water. Everything is so expensive in Venice! It started to pour rain so we booked it through St. Mark’s camponile to grab fast food pasta! Pretty good actually! And got more gelato of course. We got back to our Airbnb pretty late and got going early Sunday morning. We explored the streets and stopped in Liberia Alta Acqua, self proclaimed the most beautiful bookshop in the world. It had a book staircase and gondolas and bathtubs filled with books. After seeing the correr museum and Frari we had a delicious lunch. Next was the St. Mark’s basilica. The line was not too long and we went through fast. More souvenir shopping then went back to the Airbnb to nap.

I had Monday off so I went into Verona where it rained all day! It was so gorgeous with the river and picturesque streets.
