What were you grateful for this week?Visiting beautiful places in France.

What was the most challenging part of this week? The kids not listening to me when I need them to.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I was able to step up and help when [my host mom] wasn’t feeling well there has also been a virus going around the boys I could help take care of them as well.

Tell us about your week! This week was a really good week we did a lot of fun things!!! Monday was pretty slow because it was raining again. It’s hard to keep the boys entertained when we are stuck inside the house all day. Monday we hung out and played games and colored and later in the afternoon we rode our bikes into the center of town and got some ice cream which was fun and it was so nice to get out of the house for a couple hours.

Tuesday it was another rainy day and the boys have been sick so we have just been hanging out everyone has been relaxing and just trying to get better. We went to the skate park that afternoon though when the boys were feeling a bit better which again was fun to get out of the house and to get some fresh air. It was also really fun to watch the boys skateboarding. I got hit on at the skateboarding park which was hilarious and the guy really wanted to teach me how to skateboard. Tuesday night I hung out with my American friend I made at church and it was a lot of fun!!

Wednesday is my day off and [my host mom] wanted to take me and the kids to Bayonne and Biarritz. That morning we got up and cleaned the house and left for the day. We went to McDonald’s for lunch because it is quick and easy it was fun going though because I hadn’t been to a McDonald’s in Europe yet and they have different food there than we do. We didn’t stay long at Bayonne and Biarritz ([my host mom] wasn’t feeling well) but we saw both cities and they were beautiful! I am excited to go back and explore.

Thursday was a crazy day! We went to Atlantic Park which is a waterpark and that was fun but it is hard to keep track of three boys 10-13 running around like crazy animals but I’m glad they had fun! When we got home the pool was finished so we all jumped in the pool and swam and then I went straight to surf lessons! It was so fun to learn how to surf I am hooked and I want to go everyday!!

Friday we just hung out again at the house and swam all day since the pool is finished. Saturday I slept in and hung out and went to a church party in Anglet it was so fun and was nice to meet some more English speakers.

Sunday was a chill day it was Bastille Day so we all just hung out and then had a party that night everyone brought food and hung out and talked and then there were fireworks to end the night. It was a really fun way to spend the night. I caught the fever from the boys and wasn’t feeling well but I wasn’t going to miss Bastille Day fireworks because I had missed the 4th of July! It was a really great week!
