What were you grateful for this week?fast food pasta 😉
What was the most challenging part of this week?Trying to make cookies without measuring cups (lol).
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.J and I did an American lunch for our kiddos… hot dogs and s’mores and they loved it!
Tell us about your week! This week was great! We had lots of fun. [My host family’s son] has been wanting me to learn how to solve a Rubik’s cube and I finally solved it. I’m very proud and so is my host family haha. I got to talk to my friends and family over FaceTime and it makes me so grateful for technology!! Tuesday I tried to make cookies…and it was a disaster. I’ve never made bad cookies before so I feel a little disheartened but I will try again and make better ones. [My host mom] now doesn’t think I can cook but I will prove her wrong.
Wednesday, [my host mom] and [my host family’s son] took me to Wen, a Japanese restaurant here in gallarate and we got sushi! It was such a cute place and we had such a good time. [My host family’s son] had friends over so I watched them and it was a nice day. I watched a show with the family that night and it was good to spend more time with them.
This week I was super into journaling and thinking about what I’ve learned so far while I’ve been here and how I’ve changed and grown as a person and it was nice to reflect on my first month here. I love everything about Italy…the food and gelato but mostly the people. It’s such a cool experience to be in someone’s home and learn about their family!
Friday was so fun! We got tougher with the neighbors and swam and ate hot dogs and taught the kiddos how to make s’mores and that was so cool!! They were so happy. We had a dance party and swam some more. I love all these kiddos!!!
Saturday I headed to Venice! I met A4 there and we had such a nice time. It’s one of the prettiest places I’ve been so far. I loved it!! Sunday we toured some more and then headed home that evening. There was a train strike and basically all the trains to gallarate were cancelled so I had to wait a couple hours to get home but it all worked out! I’m loving it here, most days feel like a dream but it’s been so good.
