What were you grateful for this week?

Being able to meet other au pairs in France. What was the most challenging part of this week? [My host family’s son] wasn’t feeling well Saturday and it was difficult to take care of him.Tell us about your week!

Last week I met the other au pairs at a picnic in the city. I really connected with 3 girls, Yael from Mexico, Reyes from Spain, and Jessica from Brazil. We all hit it off and went out a few nights together into the city. We went to a dance club and went out many nights after. Last week we also had a girls night and all of us made food from our own country and had dinner together.

Saturday night I went out with François and his friends to a rap concert in the city. It was a lot of fun! The next day was bastille day. I went into the city with my friends and watched the fireworks at the cliffs in the city. We also went out dancing right after the fireworks and enjoyed the city.

I also spent mostly everyday at the beach, as usual. The heat isn’t bad here and it makes the beach nicer. [My host family’s son] and I are really getting along! If he doesn’t see me in the morning he asks where I am, and is really happy to see me when I return from the nurse. I can’t believe in only here for 25 more days. I’ve finally met other au pairs and I’m starting to feel like I’m at home, just as it’s time to leave!
