What were you grateful for this week? Miss S!
What was the most challenging part of this week? This week was challenging because a death of my host family’s friend caused everyone’s schedules to be changed. I did not mind the changing schedule whatsoever, but I could see the stress within my host family and did not know how I could best help them.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. This week I flipped my schedule around to better accomodate my host family because of the family friend’s passing. I did all I could to be helpful in the situation.
Tell us about your week! This week was a little hectic but, I still made it a good week. During the week days I spent a lot of time with my girls at the pool. Rome has been having a heat wave and the pool is really the only way to cool down. My girls and I also play tennis in the morning before it is too hot and bake cookies and play while we are inside and avoid the heat.
This week started some big sales in Italy, and I went shopping with J2 and got some cute clothes that weren’t too expensive. 4th of July was also this week! S and I celebrated by eating McDonalds. We went all in and even got McFlurrys. S and I have quickly become great friends here in Rome. She makes me feel like I am not completely on my own living in another country. She is my sanity here.
Over the weekend I took a trip to Venice with J2, A3, S2 and A5. These girls are amazing too. Travel is what makes me happy and these girls too and having that commonality has made us all so close in such a short time. Venice is absolutely breathtaking. I am still amazed at how there are no cars and the roads are canals and you travel by ferry to the other islands. I have never been to such a unique place. I am over halfway done with my time here which is crazy to say. It’s the offbeat incredible experience I’ve ever had.
