What were you grateful for this week?I am really grateful for the mountains this week. They really helped me center myself.

What was the most challenging part of this week? I have been really missing home and I wasn’t able to talk to my family this week and I miss them a lot.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I got to help my host mom with her summer camp a few times this week. All of the kids were fascinated with me, some have never met anyone from America before so that was a lot of fun.

Tell us about your week! This week I got to spend time with my family in the Mountains. We stayed in Tirano Italy for the week because my host mom is doing a summer camp for a bunch of kids. It was very relaxing in comparison to Rome the week before. We were staying with a family friend in her house on the mountain side. Everywhere you looked there was an amazing view of the valley and the mountains. The lady we were staying with was so nice and she had the cutest little boy. We had so much fun with them. During the day my host mom and girl would go down to the summer camp so I had the days to myself and really got to connect with myself again. I got to go on wonderful nature walks every day, and I got to paint and read which all are my favorite things. When everyone got back from the camp we would spend time together. The kids wanted to paint everyday which was so much fun because they got to express their artistic side.

On Thursday I went with my host family to the summer camp and we went to a little fishing pond area. I got to meet the kids in the summer camp and they all wanted to hear me talk and meet this crazy girl from America. Staying in the mountains was amazing and I would love to go back there in a few years. The one crazy thing that happened was right when I was leaving I picked up my bag from the floor and a scorpion dropped from my bag. It was about 2.5 inches long and I was so scared I had no idea that they could be up in the mountains, but I totally wanted to take it home with me to keep it as a pet. But it was really nice to get back to Bergamo because Nonna surprised me with a burger for dinner and I almost cried because I miss American food so much.
