What were you grateful for this week?Getting to finally travel with friends!

What was the most challenging part of this week?I think my challenging part of this week had to be getting the kids to cooperate. They love to play, but when it comes to learning English they do not have an interest. I’d like to work on different strategies to get them to want to learn English.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I mean I try my best everyday with the kids, and try to keep a positive attitude. I can really say that I had a “wow” moment this week, however I feel like I’m bonding with the kids better than last week so I’m happy for the progress I made.

Tell us about your week! So this week I feel like I’ve traveled to quite a few places. Earlier this week I went to Montalcino. I drove there with the car that my lovely host family let me borrow. I bought tickets to see Abbey of Saint’Antimo: The Path of Light. This is a former Benedictine monastery. Here are a some history information I found about the Abbey: The foundation of the original Benedictine monastery dates to the time of Charlemagne. The various accounts of Charlemagne founding the abbey are without direct historical foundation; they first appear in a document of the emperor Henry III from 1051.

After touring around, I went to have to dinner in Montalcino. I ended up meeting another traveler (not going through Rome abroad), and we ended up eating together and just exploring the stores nearby.

This week hanging out with the kids was fun. We continued to ride bikes, play tennis, and swim a lot! The kids love when I play “zombie” or “ninja” with them. The game zombie is when I chase the kids around the pool and pretend to eat them alive as a respectable zombie would do. Ninja is when we play on the trampoline, and they try to attack me, however I just defend myself and get them to surrender by tiring them out. I’m so glad I can play so many fun games with them.

This weekend was amazing as I got to hang out with other Rome abroad Travelers. We went to Naples, Capri, and the Amalfi Coast. We had such an amazing time!!
