What were you grateful for this week?I am grateful for nature this week. I was able to se so much of it!
What was the most challenging part of this week?
The most challenging part of this week was learning to be comfortable by myself in a city.Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. My wow moment this week is trying to make English learning fun. I taught my [my host family’s kids] songs to help them remember English words.
Tell us about your week! I had a couple extra days off this week so I was able to do two trips! I went into Genova because a friend recommended it. He said walking through the neighborhoods of Genova is like walking through a Pirate’s of the Caribbean movie set, and it so was! On Fridays in Italy, little pop up markets appear everywhere. Little treats and handmade goods are sold everywhere. I grabbed a nutella stuffed donut and sat by the port loving the ocean air, although it did smell like fish. I hiked up to a little lookout to see the city and met an older gentleman wanting to practice his English.
Saturday, P and I headed into Cinque Terre! We have been so excited to go! We hiked from Monterosso to Vernazza and we almost died. It was straight up, then straight down. But man did it have the prettiest views! Monterosso had the prettiest beach and I would love to go back and swim there! We sat and had lunch on the beach in Vernazza, explored Corniglia and Manarola, then actually swam in Riomaggiore. I am still sore, sunburned, and tired two days later but it was so worth it so see those gorgeous towns on the oceanside!
