What were you grateful for this week? The nice gardener man at the house.

What was the most challenging part of this week?Pleasing my host fam.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I am always good at making their baby laugh 🙂

Tell us about your week!I learned a lot this week. 1 that waiting out hard situations usually makes them a little bit better. 2 I can do all I can to please my host family, but when it comes down to it, I can only do so much. In order for me to be happy I have to accept the fact that I might not be best of chums with my host family ever. 3 that my mom and dad are the greatest people on this Earth (you already knew that, but it’s reconfirmed). 4 I don’t have to understand chinese people to love them. Their culture is very survival of the fittest, make it or break it, first come first serve…They are not private at all and every single person will unabashedly stare at you. Everything about China is so completely opposite of how I think. But it is important to accept them for who they are. Their culture is very strong. They fiercely cling to Culture and tradition which I respect so much. I hope to learn Mandarin and come back so I can understand this people that makes me so much. Highlights of this week….Going on walks and saying hi to all the people staring at me, buying chocolate because it’s american, and finding a beautiful elevated Forest Park.
