What were you grateful for this week?My relationship with my cute host girl ❤️
What was the most challenging part of this week?Sleeping in an airport for my 6am flight aka sleeping on a table for an hour and sitting there lol.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. My host mom and host girl came to family night with me this week! It was a lot of fun to introduce her to people I know from church!
Tell us about your week! This week was just a normal week with my host family and host girl! Nothing too out of the ordinary or exciting, but I did get to drive/ride on a moped! I’d been wanting to my whole time here just to say that I did because it’s such an iconic thing.
My weekend trip this week was London! I was so so excited all week, I’ve never been! It’s also just really good to hear English all around. It didn’t start off super well waiting for the flight, it was delayed by about an hour and a half, making me arrive in London at about 1ish in the morning. Well bad planning on my part and my hostel was an hour and a half away from the airport. It was a little difficult navigating the tube by myself but awesome people helped me thankfully. I got to my hostel at about 3 in the morning!
The next day I had a rough plan of what I wanted to do, so I got up and headed out to Portobello road, a market on a street in London!! They booths were so different and diverse it was like nothing I’ve ever seen before! They had a booth with cute freshwater pearl jewelry and your name written in Arabic, just an example of how different they all were. After Portobello road I headed to the theatre where I saw wicked!! It was amazing and I highly recommend seeing a play while in london!!
Later in the day I had a Jack the Ripper walking tour which wasn’t probably my favorite thing, [but] learning history about both London and the famous serial killer was so cool and definitely worth it.
The next day I headed to Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guard, which we didn’t see much because it was SO crowded but it was still worth it. I went to church in London! It was so cool to meet people there and just have such a fun time.
After that I headed to platform 9 and 3/4 of course and the Harry Potter store was so cool it felt like magic.
I went to Abbey road after that to pay tribute to the Beatles!! The road was so busy it was so funny watching people run across the street for a picture haha. Blackfriars Bridge, St. Paul’s cathedral, and Westminster Abbey!
Somehow I ended up at an Italian restaurant for dinner and it was good, but real Italian food is better ????
I headed to the airport and spent the night there which was a little rough getting back to my house in Italy but I did! London is so worth it!
