Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I stayed home over the weekend to watch my family’s two cats.
Tell us about your week! This week my other friend doing Rome Abroad with me came to Rome! I was so happy to see her and was the best spending time with her. I have been pretty lucky and I have been with people back home for the first two weeks I have been here and it has made the transition really good. I did my first actual tours this week and they were so much fun!
We went to the colosseum and it was amazing to see the inside and how big it is. We also did the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. The Roman Forum is incredible and I still and shocked every single day and how much history is here and is still being discovered here every day! The next day we went to Vatican City and visited the Vatican museums and Sistine chapel. My favorite part was the map room with the gold ceiling. There were so many beautiful things there.
I went to Florence for a day trip this week as well. Let me just say — if you ever have the chance to go see the statue of David, DO IT! It is so incredible. That is my favorite thing I have seen so far art/sculpture wise. I also went to the leather markets and had the worst anxiety ever trying to pick out a leather bag and deciding whether or not I wanted to spend that kind of money on one haha, I was a hot mess. But it was still a good week!
