What were you grateful for this week?[My host family’s son] learning more English phrases and meeting locals in France!

What was the most challenging part of this week? When [my host family’s son] was upset at the lake after I told him he couldn’t throw rocks at the fishes.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I helped clean throughout the house and they thanked me for teaching [my host family’s son] how to ride a bike!

Tell us about your week!

[My host family’s son] is able to understand me a lot more. He’s more open to hanging out with me, playing, and spending the afternoon with me. He can count 1-10 in English and knows simple phrases. He’s learning so much everyday, it’s incredible how much information he can soak up! [My host family’s son] called me his best friend last week and we’ve been getting along great!

I met a guy who works at the pizza place next door, and during my free time we go to the beach together and he’s been showing me around the city and surrounding cities. He’s also introduced me to some of his friends and more locals.

I’m able to understand what my host family is saying in French, I’m picking up on the French language as well. My host family is incredible and is so kind. I did feel ill the past few days from a stomach bug, but it didn’t last long. I’ve tried relaxing on the beach since the weather has been better the past few days.

Next week my host family and I are traveling to Provence to visit my host parents’ mom and dad. I’m really excited to see more parts of France! There’s also a local festival here next Wednesday and [my host family’s son’s] birthday too! So it should be an eventful week coming up!
