What were you grateful for this week? This week I was grateful for last minute plans. On Wednesday I booked a flight to London that left on Saturday. I am so grateful for the girls that let me tag along on their trip and for Europe being so easy to travel within.
What was the most challenging part of this week? The most challenging part of this week was talking to another Traveler who went home early. I have been having so much fun, but when talking to her I realized how much I miss my friends and family back home. I had to overcome being homesick through phone calls and FaceTime.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I went to swim lessons, piano lessons and even the doctor with my girls this week.
Tell us about your week! This week was great! It was a little different than last week because my girls did not have school or summer camp so they were home all week! We had a lot more time to be together than the week before. Our favorite things to do together are crafts (especially with slime!!) and go to the swimming pool. We have the best time hanging out together and are always laughing, singing and talking.
I always have a huge smile on my face when I am with the girls. I love dinners in Rome. We have dinner as a family every night of the week and it’s always delicious.
When I am not home, I am in the center of Rome sightseeing with other Travelers. We have gelato pretty much everyday. On Wednesday, I found my plans to go to Florence and Pisa changed. I was supposed to travel with another American, but she decided not to go. I was nervous to travel alone so I cancelled my train tickets. I was bummed at first but then I booked a last minute trip to London!! I had no prior thoughts to even plan a trip to London but I did because some other Travelers were headed there. I am so grateful that they let me join their trip and that Rome to London isn’t too expensive. We had so much fun sightseeing and speaking english in London. I have become really close with A, this was our second weekend trip together! It was my first time meeting L and she is an amazing person.
On Sunday we walked over 13 miles in London and now my feet are hurting very bad but I would not trade that trip for the world. I am back in Rome writing this post in bed feeling so grateful to have this opportunity to live in Italy and be able to travel and meet such beautiful people.
