What were you grateful for this week?My host parents ❤️
What was the most challenging part of this week? The gosh darn heat.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I’ve been teaching my host girl more and more English and she’s doing so good!
Tell us about your week! My host family got a pool in their backyard and it is the nicest thing ever, I can just go out there with my host girl and swim around and she loves it! We went out to dinner this week and my host family took me with them, we went to Seiano which is a coastal city and ate at a restaurant right next to the bay it was so pretty. Afterwards we checked out the beach and it was so warm and clear even at night it was amazing.
This weekend I stayed home and another Rome Abroad Traveler came and stayed with me at my host family’s home! There’s a pull out bed in my room and they are so awesome they told me a girl can come and stay here with me on weekends if they want. So one of the other Rome Abroad girl came and we went to the Amalfi coast!
On the way here, her train skipped the train station closest to my house and it started to rain ????♀️ It was a doozy getting her here haha but when she got here we got back on a train to Sorrento to catch the bus for Positano. We got off on the wrong stop too so that delayed up by a bit. But we eventually got on the bus and I was surprised by how cheap it was!
Amalfi was gorgeous too wow you see all the pictures and sometimes places don’t live up to all the hype but Positano did ???? we just wandered around and got some gelato and then ended up at the beach. We went and swam in the water and saw a jellyfish it was crazy!! We headed back and spent a bit of time in Sorrento getting souvenirs for friends and family members and just doing some sightseeing.
On Sunday we went to church together! I’ve made friends with a lot of the locals through the church they’re all so nice to me and I love going there to speak with Italians! After me and the other Rome Abroad Traveler went to Castellammare city center for gelato. I didn’t have anything else planned for the day so I dropped off the other Rome Abroad Traveler and spent the rest of the day at the pool at home.
There was a birthday party my host girl went to so the family dropped me off in Gragnano and there was a cherry festival going on with the traditional tammurriata dance in southern Italy — it was beautiful.
