What were you grateful for this week?Laughter.

What was the most challenging part of this week? The most challenging part of my week was probably getting to places on time.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. A wow moment I had this week was teaching [my host family’s kids] a new American game called Spot It! They love the game and are totally obsessed!

Tell us about your week! This week was fantastic! On Monday I spent the day baking with some of the friends I have made from church! It was really fun to bake because I haven’t done that since I was in America! We made pineapple pie, and it was surprisingly tasty! Later that evening, we took a walk around the neighborhood. During our walk, we passed by a shopping plaza that was full of hundreds of Chinese woman dancing to festive music booming from a speaker! They were lead by an instructor at the front. They looked like they were having so much fun! The dance moves seemed fairly simple; we almost joined in! That was pretty crazy to see! I love that they were doing it outside. I wish that was a thing in America. Later on in the week, A and two friends and I decided to go back to the Gongqing Park, the one A and I had explored last week. We had even more fun this week! We had snacks and sat by the most lovely lake as we enjoyed them. As we ate, we were serenaded by a man playing an instrument similar sounding to a flute. It was lovely.

One friend and I decided to rent a tandem bike for an hour. That was actually hilarious because at first we were having an incredibly difficult time keeping our balance. We almost crashed, but luckily never did! 😉

The Chinese people we passed thought we were quite the sight! They would point at us and laugh. Sometimes it seemed like they were saying something to encourage us in Chinese. They are the cutest people. We were laughing so hard. It was such a lovely day!
