What were you grateful for this week? For the help that people give!
What was the most challenging part of this week?An overnight bus, not much sleep and getting sick after all that.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. It’s just fun to hang out and get to know your host family. The more you get to know them the better relationships you form and it makes your time so so much better. Just going out of your way to help them too, like loading and unloading the dishes or helping around when you’re not required to.
Tell us about your week! This week when I was scheduled to work later, I went during the day to Monte Faito. Monte Faito is a mountain right next to my town and there is a team that you can take to the top of it. I went and took the tram and my host mom told me about a church you can hike up to, which was the same church my host parents were married in which is so cool! So I got up there and hiked over to the church. I got a little lost, the trail was really hard to find not going to lie. It was so beautiful up there it gave me a great view of Mt. Vesuvius and the coast. On the other side of the mountain on the way back there was a little cafe I went to that had a great view. I was literally walking through clouds on the mountain too it’s that high up that I would be walking through clouds. My trip this weekend was to Venice!! I traveled there by an overnight bus so when I got there I was pretty tired. I met up with other romeabroad travelers and we just got lost in the city! We ate at a restaurant right by a canal which was so picturesque. We took a gondola ride too which was such a cool way to see the city. We just walked around and it was so much fun! The next day I went to Murano and Burano and a cool cemetery which was it’s very own island. Murano is known for its glassmaking so it was so cool to see that, and Burano is known for being really really beautiful and it definitely lived up to its expectations.
