What were you grateful for this week? This week I got to meet a girl in the program and we had so much fun this weekend. My family is so amazing and loving!

What was the most challenging part of this week? This weekend I had the opportunity to go down to Rome but there were some issues with the person I was staying with and it cause a bad anxiety attack.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I took [my host family’s daughter] to Rome to spend the weekend with her father, so that [my host mom] could stay home and rest from her surgery.

Tell us about your week! This week it was finally warm enough to spend some time outside. I got to explore a little more of the city I am staying in. Zanica is a very little village and I got to see parts of it and got to have some amazing gelato. Then a few days later I got to go out and explore Bergamo. I got to see the amazing structures that have been there for hundreds of years. I was able to see so many cathedrals and I loved every minute of it. I was able to read some of the Latin inscribed on the walls and written on the paintings which were really cool for me. I also was able to discover more about the house that I am staying in. The house is amazing. As a historian, I love all things old and this house was built in the 1600s and has a church attached to it that is still used to this day. I am completely fascinated by the house and I can’t wait until I get to learn the full history of it. This weekend I got to go to Rome and I met up with one of the other Rome Abroad girls and we had so much fun together. We got to wander the streets of Rome together and it was by far my favorite night so far! I can’t wait for more amazing days with Rome Abroad girls.
