What were you grateful for this week?Meeting other Rome Abroad travelers!
What was the most challenging part of this week?Trying to see everything in one day.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I helped my host mom clear the table.
Tell us about your week! It is now my second week in Italy, and I’m LOVING it. My host mom had the day off so she decided to take me to Pisa. It was beautiful. We went to the Keith Haring wall (it’s one of his last works of art). We were also able to go see the Leaning Tower, Volterra Cathedral, the Baptistry of St. John, and Camposanto Monumentale. The Camposanto Monumentale (cemetery) was my favorite! It was so incredible to see the artwork and the beautiful graves there. I was also able to go on my first weekend trip with other Rome Abroad travelers. We went to Genoa, Italy. (Not Genovia, sorry mom.) I can’t believe beautiful places like Genoa exist in the world. We only had a short time of being there, but it was amazing. Genoa has an aquarium and it was incredible. They had dolphins, sharks, jelly-fish, seals, penguins, etc. After that, we walked around the port of Genoa to find some dinner. We found this incredible pizza restaurant and we were able to talk and get to know each other better!
All the strong, incredible women I’ve met through Rome Abroad have made such an impact on my life. I can’t wait to travel to Venice next weekend to meet even more travelers!
