What were you grateful for this week? All these amazing places so close by ????What was the most challenging part of this week? The language barrier. Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I’ve been learning little Italian phrases to communicate with my host girl who is 2 years old, and then after I say it in Italian I’ll say it in English. She doesn’t seem to be responding sometimes but she is young and I’ve only been here for 2 weeks, so I’m way hopeful I can pass along some of my English ???? sometimes she’ll understand what I’m saying and it’s the best feeling! I’m also learning Italian from her so it’s a good trade off. Tell us about your week! This week I went to Pompeii on Friday!! It was so so so cool!! It was mind blowing some of the things that were still preserved from the eruption of Vesuvius. A lot of the places still had paint and artwork on the walls it was crazy!! I just wandered around the whole place and I traveled myself which was definitely to my advantage because I saw just about the whole of Pompeii, which is really really big. But I was able to go more places and see what I wanted to see!!The next day I went to Sorrento for a day trip! Its about 30 minutes from my host home which is SO cool. I walked around town a bit and there was a cool little hike I wanted to find so I just kept walking and I found it! It’s called Bagni Della Regina Giovanna (bath of queen Giovanna) and it was BREATHTAKING!! No joke! It’s like one of those places with water that is so blue that you only see pictures of but nope I was actually THERE! Such a cool place. Later in the day I met so many people who spoke English and I just hung out with them! I walked around the shops down the alleys and got souvenirs for people back home. Sunday I went to church!! I actually ran into missionaries on the way back from Sorrento and guess what!? One of them was from my hometown! Another one was from my same state, and it was so good to talk with people from the US!! The ward was so nice ❤️ We had a lunch afterwards and they all brought Italian dishes to share ???? it was such a good week.
Why I Recommend a Program vs. Doing it Alone
Let's go back to the spring of 2019. I had recently become obsessed with travel and I was eager to continue traveling...
