What were you grateful for this week?So many things!! My friends and family back home, my friends and family here, and the endless opportunities life has!!
What was the most challenging part of this week?Feeling comfortable walking around by myself after feeling creeped out by some strangers!
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I shared my chocolate that I brought back from Switzerland with the kids, they loved it.
Tell us about your week!Wow, what a week. The kids had strep throat this week so I was doing my best to help them out in any way I could, while also avoiding getting it! They stayed home from school so the schedule this week was a bit different than other weeks. I love these kids so much, they are so funny and wild and they’re teaching me so much about Italian culture while I get to teach them about mine!My favorite thing this week was being able to travel to Switzerland! That was one of the places that I really wanted to go to while I was living here and being able to find a cheap flight felt like fate! It was so fun and I can’t wait to go back. I traveled to Geneva, which is a french speaking part of Switzerland and I kept accidentally speaking Italian lol. It is so funny that it felt so natural and was almost automatic to ask for things or say thank you in Italian instead of basic french or even english! The architecture and culture in Geneva is absolutely gorgeous. Me and A, the other traveler I went with, climbed a lot of stairs in St Pierre’s Cathedral to get a panoramic view of the city and it was so incredibly worth it. I would make that climb every day if i could, the view of Switzerland was beautiful! This week I became really aware of everything I’m grateful for. I’m incredibly lucky to be living here and to have met all the people i’ve met so far. This program is amazing and I can’t believe I’m half way through already!
