What were you grateful for this week?Being in Italy.

What was the most challenging part of this week?Realizing I have to go home soon.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I helped plan an easter egg hunt for the kids before I left.

Tell us about your week! This week has been a rollercoaster of emotions. I definitely have been looking forward to going home with all the workI’ve  done of the past three weeks, but now that it’s here I don’t want to leave. I did not expect to get as close to the family as I have. All of the kids and I are extremely close. Even though I worked extremely hard these past couple months, the family has been very good to me and now consider them my “Italian family.” The grandmother on the mom’s side of the family and I are especially close. It was very heart breaking to have to say goodbye to her yesterday. I am closest with the oldest girl, who’s 10 years old. She’s very mature for her age and reminds me of my own younger sister, we have a lot in common too so we’ve been close since the beginning.

This week I visited all of my favorite places near by — my local gelato shop, the pizza place I always get pizza from, my little book store that I’ve spent hours in. I am going to miss it like crazy.

It has also rained the past two weeks here and I love the rain everything is so beautiful and that’s another thing I’m going to miss here. However it’s starting to get crazy hot during the day so I’m glad the time that I came out here was now and not in the summer. If I came here in the summer I would probably want to spend it by the seaside so I could swim everyday.
