What were you grateful for this week?My Host Mom!

What was the most challenging part of this week?Both kids have had high fever.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. A wow moment this week came from my host mom. My real family came from America and they spent a few days here in Rimini during the week. On their first day here, my host mom made a huge gourmet meal for my whole family to come over and eat!

Tell us about your week! This week was very nice!! After coming back to Rimini after visiting Rome last weekend, I spent Monday and Tuesday watching the children. It has been a hard week for them because the little girl had fever all last week, and as soon as she was better, the little baby got fever. We have had sick kids in the house for about 1.5 weeks, and with just my luck, today I am running a low fever that hopefully doesn’t get too bad. I am so sad this is my last week with this family! They have gone above and beyond for me!

As my real family came to visit Rimini this week, my host mom made a yummy lunch for them (which I know took a lot of time!) She is a very busy woman so I appreciated her loyalty and kindness in welcoming my family!

My family was here for about 2.5 days and my host mom basically gave me those days off to spend with them! It meant so much to me. She is the kindest person I have EVER met. She honestly is superwoman. Watching her throughout my time here, I am amazed in everything she does.

This past weekend I went to Venice with my family! This was my family’s last weekend here in Italy. I was so happy that K (also in the program) was able to come spend the weekend with us as well! On Saturday, we took a tour all through Venice, and we had a fun ride in the GONDOLA!! Talk about dreams come true! I got to check that off the bucket list! That was so cool. I have loved all of Italy but I have to say that Venice has been my favorite city. I love that you have to take the boat everywhere, and where streets should be, there are canals! The cutest city ever! I can’t believe my time here is almost over!
