What were you grateful for this week? My family coming to visit.

What was the most challenging part of this week? When my sister flew back home.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. Something extra I did for my host family this week was stay home with two of the kids because they were sick and didn’t go to school.

Tell us about your week! This week my sister and my mom came to visit me! The night they flew in I couldn’t sleep because I was so excited to see them. I loved being their tour guide and showing them around this amazing city I have really come to love. The first day we went straight to the duomo, no matter how many times I see it, my breath still gets taken away. I also showed them the shopping plaza near by which they liked a lot too.

I wish I could’ve counted all the stops we made for gelato this week but I honestly lost track. The best flavor was strawberry basil, sounds weird but so yummy! The whole time I have been in Milan I have seen these bikes you could rent and I always wanted to try it but you had to download an app and blah blah blah. Anyway we finally got to while my family was here, it was honestly my favorite part. We had nowhere to be so we just rode whatever streets looked cool. I took them to all my favorite restaurants but the best dinner we had was with my host family. It was so great to finally have my family meet these wonderful people I have gotten the opportunity to live with especially after they have heard so much about them.

On the weekend we met other Rome Abroad girls and got to hike part of cinque terre, and even get in the ocean! To wrap it up, I am starting to realize how much I will miss Italy and traveling once I leave in two weeks!
