What were you grateful for this week?Friends and travel buddies. What was the most challenging part of this week?Stress of traveling with lots of connections. Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. At my host child’s request, I’ve been looking up and learning magic card tricks so I can teach her and she can show her tutor. It’s been a lot of fun, and she gets really excited every time I have a new one for her.Tell us about your week! I have been going nonstop for over a week now, with no end in sight! It’s been exhausting, but really good too. My awesome cousin and her equally-awesome husband came to visit me in Rome and that was a blast! We went around to all the sights: the Roman Forum, Colosseum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps etc, and I was so happy I could navigate us without a map! I love that I’ve come to know this city well enough to get around like that, at least in the city center. We had a lot of fun together, and I was really happy to see them again before I leave Europe. This weekend I went with a few other Rome Abroad Travelers to Positano on the Amalfi Coast and just wow. That’s possibly the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. It was kind of hectic to get there and get back, but so worth it. Our Airbnb had the best view I’ve ever seen, which made the thousands of steps to get there (not exaggerating, literally 2,000 stairs) completely worth it. We made crepes and orange juice Sunday morning and ate on the terrace and I felt like I was living in a postcard. We also hiked part of the Path of the Gods, an amazing trail along the coast, got lemon granites, walked around the town, and hung out on the beach. We literally climbed all over the mountains, by the end of the weekend I was super tired but super happy too! Positano is just a beautiful town along a beautiful coast, I feel so lucky to have had the chance to be there for a bit, with great company. I’m super grateful for friends that made this trip really fun, and helped when I got stressed. 🙂
