What were you grateful for this week?I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow and experience new things.
What was the most challenging part of this week?Just dealing with a lot of stresses from home, as well as balancing the schedules and time with my host family.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I went to [my host family’s son’s] school during my time off to support him and watch him in his basketball tournament.
Tell us about your week! What a week! It was one full of lots of highs and lows! It was a fun week, but it was filled with a lot of stress. A lot of it were things from home or personal things that I was trying to deal with, and then some of it came from living here. But it was still really fun because I was able to support [my host family’s son] by going to his school basketball tournament and cheer him on, and then just the two of us were home all of Friday night and we were able to just play games and relax and spend time together alone for the first time which actually made a big difference in our interactions and relationship (in the best way), and then I was able to top off the week with a trip with some friends to Positano, along the Amalfi Coast.
The trip was so nice because the weather was absolutely perfect, and we got to spend the weekend nestled right in between the mountains and the beach! And eat lots of pizza! ????
I felt as though my relationship with my host family grew a lot this week and there is just a sense of comfort and friendship and it has been nice to be around them. It was sad because I had to say good-bye to Andrea’s grandparents, whom I love, as they are going on a trip to Sicily for a month, but it was fun to spend some time with them before they left! It has just been a good week full of good people!
