What were you grateful for this week?PARIS.
What was the most challenging part of this week?Scheduling issues.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. Things have been stressful for them, so I’ve tried to be as flexible and available for them as possible this week.
Tell us about your week! This week was super hectic! But it was also one of my favorites yet. I met up a few times with other Travelers here for smoothies and, as always, gelato 🙂 I’m super grateful for them, I love every chance I get to see them. I also went around Trajan’s Market, which was way cool. It’s something I’ve studied, so actually walking around it was a little mind-blowing.
And then. I went to Paris. And two days was nowhere near enough time. I fell in love with that city the moment I stepped foot in it. As soon as I got there I beelined for the Louvre, where I have wanted to go for years. It was huge! I actually managed to see most of the works I wanted to see, including Winged Victory of Samothrace, one of my favorite pieces of art in the world. While I was there my uncle came and met me! He’s on a research trip and he was just there for that day so we got to spend some time together and that was awesome. We went to the Musee d’Orsay and Musee de l’Orangerie together, which were also amazing, and then the Eiffel Tower at night with crepes! It was incredible. The next day I set out to explore the rest of Paris on my own. Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur, Sainte Chappelle, an incredible view from the top of the Arc de Triomphe, and my favorite place: a wonderful little bookstore that let me rest a bit in the middle. I was sad to leave, I loved traveling there. I’m so grateful I got the chance to go.
