What were you grateful for this week? The oreo milkshake I ate Friday morning.
What was the most challenging part of this week?Travel logistics.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I didn’t see my host family all week! They were on vacation and I was traveling.
Tell us about your week! WThis week I went on a trip to several different interesting places. One of the places I went to was Bologna, which is famous for several things, but mostly food. The surrounding region is known for being the home of Parmesan Cheese (Parmeggiano Reggiano from Parma and Reggio Emilia), prosciutto (a kind of ham), and balsamic vinegar. Bologna itself is famous for tagliatelle alla bolognese, a delicious pasta with ragú sauce. Some of the most famous buildings in Bologna are a pair of towers. The tallest is the Torre degli Asinelli. Both towers lean slightly, and the tallest one gives a very good view of the city.
Another famous place I visited in Bologna is the cathedral. It’s pinkish on the bottom half and entirely dark brown stone on the top half.
While I was there, I of course had to eat tagliatelle alla bolognese, and I also had some delicious ice cream in several interesting flavours. The most unique was Parmesan Cheese flavor, which wasn’t half bad although very accurate!
I also found a good quality pizza place while I was there and ordered the “surprise” pizza that listed the ingredients as “whatever the chef is feeling today.” It had all sorts of interesting stuff on it including some kind of leafy green vegetable, but it was really good!
