What were you grateful for this week?Family.
What was the most challenging part of this week?My dog at home was hit by a truck and injured so it was hard being so far away.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. Gave the dogs a bath.
Tell us about your week!I watch the girls every other week because their parents are separated and they go to their moms every other week so I had this week off to do whatever I wanted. I was able to spend Monday doing errands and house work with my host dad and then cooked dinner and had some drinks telling stories and bonding with him as well. I get along really well with my host dad which has made my time here even better to have a friend in him and someone to talk to and hang out with when I feel homesick.
A couple of the other days an au pair that I met from another family that I helped with and I cooked dinner and played games and she spent the night. Then we got up the next morning and went down to South Bank for a swim and do a little shopping and then went to a free movie under the stars in the park. It was Valentine’s week so they played The Notebook.
Saturday morning I went with three other au pairs to Noosa in the Sunshine Coast. We got a hostel there and walked to the beach and spent the day at the beach playing in the water and drinking cider and wine then went back to our hostel where we met a few girls from England and ended up going out with them that night. On Sunday we went to do a hike/nature walk a long the coast to Hells Gates which is a cliff overlooking the ocean. It was so beautiful! And great to socialize and meet girls in my age group!
