What were you grateful for this week?

Peanut Butter.

What was the most challenging part of this week?Forgetting to bring a towel to the “hot” springs.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. This week I tried really hard to get down some Italian sentences because my host family wants me to learn some, and I think I said things mostly right!

Tell us about your week! This week flew by. This week I worked more on my italian. I feel like it is slowly (very slowly) getting better. I went back to Rome for the weekend and met up with M and A. We rented a car and drove a few hours to get to Saturnia Hot Springs. The drive was so beautiful. We were able to see a lot of the italian country side and it was probably the most relaxing part of my trip so far. We stopped at a supermarket on the way and I FOUND PEANUT BUTTER! I have missed it so much!

The hot spring itself was so cool. It was not very hot though and Saturday was really windy, so we were all freezing. Plus me and A forgot towels. Oops. Traveling is getting a lot less scary now that I’ve done it a few times. I actually kind of like going between buses and trains and the metro now that I sort of know what I am doing.

Today is my birthday and my host family threw me a party! They are the best! They prepared a giant dinner and even learned how to sing happy birthday in English! I thought it would be so hard being away from home and my family today but they made me feel right at home and I am so grateful for them.
