What were you grateful for this week?

A friend from home joining me in Italy.

What was the most challenging part of this week?Learning to communicate with a language barrier. 

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I’ve been able to spend extra time at night reading bedtime stories in English which has been a special time for us. 

Tell us about your week! This week was a great week. I’m especially thankful to have my friend from home join me in Italy. Once she arrived we have been able to meet in Turin together and go sight seeing with each other. I’ve been able to continue with my Italian classes and have enjoyed meeting other people my age who live in this town. The girls in my Italian class have been so welcoming and have given me awesome suggestions on different parts of the city to explore and research. 

This weekend my friend and I were able to spend the weekend in Florence. Even though we got lost several times and took the wrong bus home we alway have such an amazing time together and it was an incredible experience being able to enjoy the beauty, history and culture of Italy with a friend. It’s definitely taking time to adjust to a new city but I’m thankful for those who have been willing to explain and help when I’m lost and confused. My goal for this coming week is definitely to learn how to use the bus and train system better! The chapels and museums in Florence were amazing, and I’m so excited to travel to other areas of Italy in the coming weeks.
