What were you grateful for this week?

Nature.

What was the most challenging part of this week?Balance.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I made sure to do the dishes every day.

Tell us about your week! This week I tried to connect with the girls independently rather than all 3 of them together. I spent time with them on their own and was able to get to know them better. [My host family’s oldest daughter] is 8 and she is smart and very curious about every thing, she is constantly asking questions and reading every thing and if she doesn’t understand something she makes sure to ask. [My host family’s middle daughter] is 6 and she loves all things girl and being the nurturing sister, she paints my nails and does my make up and loves to get dressed up and let’s me do her hair. [The youngest] is 5 and loves to play and laugh and do whatever her big sisters are doing and follow their lead.

[My host family’s middle daughter] went to a sleepover at a friends this weekend so [the other girls] and I made homemade pizza with a recipe that my mom used while I was growing up. They got to roll out their own dough and put all the toppings on themselves. They loved it and enjoyed the pizza even more!

This week in my spare time I went and rode the Wheel of Brisbane, went swimming, went to the Saturday market in South Bank, and went to Mount Tambourine which is the rainforest where they have many hiking trails to waterfalls. It was so beautiful and so nice to be back in nature/the mountains breathing in fresh air and hitting a trail for some good exercise.
