What were you grateful for this week? Going to the mountain house!
What was the most challenging part of this week? I spoke too soon on my last blog post… I got sick and it sucked! Being sick away from home was really tough.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. After dinner [my host mom] was reading with [my host family’s older son] and [my host dad] was watching T.V. with [my host family’s younger son]. I went into the kitchen and unloaded the dishwasher and started doing dishes so that [my host parents] could enjoy that time with their kids.
Tell us about your week! This week was honestly really rough. I felt sick on Wednesday morning so I missed class for 2 days and didn’t even leave the house.
Since I was sick I didn’t get to spend time with the kids (mom’s request) which made my days very boring. I was really missing home during these days, all I wanted was to be in my bed at home able to roam the house as I pleased. It made me fully realize that every family deals with sickness in different ways and it was the first time I’ve experienced that.
I woke up on Friday morning and felt back to normal! On Saturday we attended a birthday party for [my host family’s older son’s] friend. Another nanny from one of his friends came, she is from Australia and we are planning on hanging out together soon. After the party we headed to the mountain house. It is such a beautiful home, I am so excited to spend 10 days there starting this Friday.
Sunday morning I woke up to the most beautiful view of the sunlight hitting the Italian alps. [My host dad, the oldest son,] and I went to the ski resort in the morning. Driving there is so scary — the roads are so tight and so many blind corners. I spent the day snowboarding with [my host dad] and his sister, she is so kind and has amazing English. It was such a fun day and I can’t wait for more!
