What were you grateful for this week? Sweet family.
What was the most challenging part of this week?Getting used to different customs.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. Spending extra time with the family’s child while she attends her events and enjoys introducing me to her friends.
Tell us about your week! My first week in Turin has been full of new and exciting things! I’ve really enjoyed walking the streets of Turin in the city center. The parks here are incredibly beautiful and I have spent every day walking around these endless trails.
The family has also provided a bike for me and we have gone out several times this past weekend together. I had the opportunity to go the Egyptian museum and have many more museums on my list to explore. I’m very thankful that the family has been willing to help me in anyway they can by helping me acquire a bus and museum pass.
On Sunday evening I attended an Italian musical with the family and my host mom translated most of the show for me. This evening I attended my first Italian class and am looking forward to the next 8 weeks in the program. I also finished my day with my house mom and her sister at a yoga class.
I’m excited to see more of the city and other parts of Italy in the coming weeks. I’m so thankful for this opportunity and the kindness I have been shown by my Italian family and their friends. I’m looking forward to meeting fellow Rome Abroad Travelers in the coming weeks!
