E’s Inspiring Week in Rome

What were you grateful for this week? I was grateful to finally be able to get out of the house and see some different parts of Rome! I was able to go out and explore more, and that helped me in every aspect.

What was the most challenging part of this week? The most difficult part of this week is that I have been sick. I got some kind of weird throat infection, so that hasn’t been the most fun to deal with! But it is all good!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I have been sick this week so they told me that I didn’t necessarily have to do all of the same things like normal, because it was hard for me to talk and swallow and what not, but I still did my best to pull my weight around the house, whether it was group things or cleaning (after it was confirmed that I wasn’t contagious ???? )!

Tell us about your week! I learned to have a lot of motivation this week! Because all of my motivation had to come from me. I had an out for everything, yet I didn’t want to use it. I learned how to make sure that I kept going every day, even though things were hard. I know that the best things come after the hardest things, and I guess I’m still looking for the best things that will come after the challenges of this week, but I was at least able to find ways to motivate myself to keep going like normal this week and we made it through all of the hard! And it was a great week! I was able to see and do so much!

I was able to see a lot of the city (of Rome) as well as a little bit outside of Rome. I feel as though I have mastered using the Metro and my Italian is coming along, slowly but surely! I am so grateful for all of the people here and how kind they are to me! They help me practice Italian but also try their very best to use whatever bits of English they know. And my family is the best! We are continuing to learn more and more about each other every day, but that’s a challenge that I love to be a part of! Each day is an opportunity to learn something more!
