What were you grateful for this week?My Classmates.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Niente! Overall, it was a great week!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I help my host family set up their Christmas tree this week. It put me in the holiday spirit and was a lot of fun!

Tell us about your week! It was a really good week for me. I am feel like that I have adjusted well living in Italy. It makes me a sad to know that I will be going home in a couple of weeks. On Thursday, I went out to a farewell lunch with some of my classmates. One of the girls is an au pair from Bosnia and she was returning home the next day, so we all got together to celebrate.

On Friday night I met up with M in Napoli!! I was skeptical at first because we were both told that Naples is kind of sketchy. When we arrived late Friday night, the streets were definitely busy and still filled with a lot of people. Luckily for us, we booked an AMAZING Airbnb. Our host met up with us the first night and gave us tips for our trip. The pizzeria across from our BnB was extremely well-known and had the best reviews. Even though M and I were tired we figured we get a pizza for “take away” that night. It was a great idea because the pizza was SO good.

On Saturday, M and I went to the National Archeological Museum of Naples and toured around the city. M and I accidentally walked into the middle of a wedding in one of the Cathedrals (oops). So I guess this means that I can say I’ve crashed an Italian wedding. T2 met up with us later that night and we all toured the underground city of Naples. We ended the night with some fried pizza and cheap drinks.

Sunday was the highlight of our trip. We found out that the first Sunday of every month, entry to Pompeii is free! We wanted to avoid the crowd so we showed up as soon as it opened. It was great because there were not any big crowds and we were able to thoroughly enjoy the ruins. After Pompeii we jumped back onto the train and visited Sorrento. Sorrento is this cute coastal town and since it was December they had their holiday lights up too.

We had pizza every night, but I am not mad about it at all. This weekend was well spent and I will definitely miss M. This was our last trip together and I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet her through Rome Abroad!
