What were you grateful for this week? My host family ????

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?l’m very sleep deprived but only because enjoying my last couple weeks in Europe seems more important than sleep.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.My host parents had family in town so I stayed in with the kids and put them to bed almost every night so they could all go out to dinner and catch up. I love spending time with the kids so I’m always grateful for any opportunity I get to hang with them.

Tell us about your week! This week has been one of my favorites!! [My host family’s sons] have become so important to me and it’s going to be one of the hardest things saying goodbye to them. They have impacted my life in such a big way. I’ve loved being a part of their family for the past three months. This will be an experience I will remember and cherish for the rest of my life.

For my weekend trip I was able to meet my family in London. London is absolutely beautiful. The whole city feels like royalty. It was the best feeling seeing my family after three months. Our first day there we went out to lunch for fish & chips…of course. Afterwards, we headed over to Buckingham Palace. They guards were marching back and forth like nobody’s business. I could not imagine doing that all day in the cold but props to them.

We found the cutest Christmas market underneath the London Eye. They had Belgium pancakes, hot chocolate, chocolate fondue fountains, crepes and churros and yes…I did try it all. The next day we bought buss passes and rode around the city and saw all the different attractions. This is honestly the best way to see everything in a short amount of time. We could hop on and off whenever and it came with a ferry ride. We were able to make room in our trip for tea time because that’s just what you do when you’re in London.

I’ve absolutely loved this experience and I hope someday I can do it all over again. It has been full of memories, new friends, and a whole lotta good food. UP NEXT: Rome & Paris!
