What were you grateful for this week? This week I’m grateful to have travel.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? This week has been very difficult because potty training a child is hard.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.A wow moment I’ve had this week is I told my host mom I would potty train James for her so that she wouldn’t have to worry about it anymore.
Tell us about your week!San Churro in Australia is a must, it’s a shop based fully on churros they have any type of churro and topping/filling or dipping sauce you want. They make these awesome churro ice cream bowls and they are to die for.
To be honest though, there are some weeks here where you don’t do much or do anything at all other than your job of being an au pair. Sometimes I am so in a hurry to see all of the world and every cool place that I skip out on the little moments that are needed to keep me going, such as down time, alone time even maybe just some nights in with a good book or a movie rather than always being on the go traveling can be exhausting mentally and psychically and I find it important to take time out of your travel bug lifestyle and to sometimes just be still.
This week has been stormy a lot of rain has been happening lately so on those days I take a blanket, get some coffee and sit on the back deck and watch the rain storms I have the most beautiful backyard in Australia I could sit out there for hours rain or shine (also the sunrises and sunsets are unreal here).
I’m obsessed with living on acreage, I take morning walks sometimes and the kangaroos that come hopping within feet of me…like who in their life time gets from America gets to stay they take a morning jog and are surrounded by heapes of kangaroos?
Joining a family that has a pool in Australia is highly recommended especially if you are here in there summer months like now, it so hot and so humid all the time having a pool is very nice on it’s super nice to have some down time in the day I will just make some snacks and go lay out by the pool during the kids nap or school time.
This week I did learn to be careful with animals you get close to, I spent 30 minutes near a toad taking photos of it and watching it. I even touched at point because he was just so cute…when my host mom got home she ended up killing the toad due to it being very poisonous. Australia really is full of deadly creatures this week I’ve seen massive spiders, deadly frogs, and a big snake.
