What were you grateful for this week?Family.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Working with others.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I guess the one thing I would say is that I offered to go half-pay on her trip in the beginning when she had [my host family’s son’s] grandma come help. I thought it was fair since there was so much help.
Tell us about your week! This week we went and saw the tree with light on it. At some point we are going to see the botanical gardens there in the city and up at Mount Coot-tha. It’s good to get out and see what’s going on around you and not just stick inside all the time. It’s fun being able to go out with the girls from the program.
After a long week of working with the different kids, it’s nice just to go out and see everything and everyone. The city is so alive and I’m so happy when I’m out there viewing everything. Personal challenges come but that doesn’t change the beauty of the world. You just have to put yourself in a position to be open to accepting it.
Anyway, I’ve loved the experiences of going out with the other girls. Lots of fun. Even just walking around the city is an adventure with those two. It’s really really great. It’s good to share stories about work with them because they completely understand the ups and downs of the job. It makes you value the good parts and better handle the more difficult ones. Life is beautiful, you can not waste it on focusing on things that do not really matter in the end.
