What were you grateful for this week? The opportunity to live in Italy and see so many amazing places.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? Being stressed about coming home.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I brought home some yummy sweets from Venice for [my host family’s daughter].
Tell us about your week! This past week was great. I was able to spend time with good friends and go on a couple adventures. On Saturday I met up with two other Rome Abroad travelers and we headed to Lake Como. We weren’t exactly sure what to expect but it ended up being a really great day. Lake Como is ginormous and has a bunch of tiny cities on its edge. We got off the train in one city and explored about four more. The main way to get from city to city is by ferry so we took that all day. I love taking the ferry wherever I am so I was extremely excited. There’s an old Villa on the edge of the lake and we decided to look around and pay for a tour. It was stunning. I would not mind living there. Then of course we had to end our day with some gelato.
On Sunday I headed to Venice. Best decision I’ve ever made. I think that was the coolest city I’ve ever been to. I knew it was going to be awesome but it definitely exceeded my expectations. It’s crazy to think a town is literally built on water. I was able to see some great popular monuments but I think the best part was just walking around getting lost. I kept thinking, how lucky am I to be here right now? I was feeling very grateful for that adventure and all my adventures I’ve had so far.
