What were you grateful for this week? This week I’m grateful for Mickey Mouse. I am the biggest Disney fanatic so getting to visit Mickey Mouse in another Country made all my dreams come true! What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? This week I was doing laundry, I did a load and when I went to switch the loads I couldn’t get the door to the washer to shut. I told my host mom & showed her. Then my host mom’s mom looked at it too, she started sounding very mad and saying a bunch of things I didn’t understand. I felt like they thought I had broke it and I felt very uncomfortable knowing that they might think I wasn’t taking care of their things. Later my host mom talked to me, and was very nice letting me know that everyone is using the washer all day and that if it wouldn’t have happened to me it probably would have happened to anyone else.Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. The full time nanny usually makes sure the bathroom is always stalked with hand towels and shower towels but this week every night before bed I would check and restock them.Tell us about your week! This week was really amazing. I continue to love my host family. This week I got to meet my host family’s cousin, who has become one of my best friends. Her mom came into town, so she’s been spending a lot of time with us. She is so sweet and it really makes me miss my mom!

[My host family’s daughter] was very happy this week and we actually got to play and talk more this week. She’s also learning English in school now too, and so she’s becoming less shy when speaking it. She was a lot more warm this week giving me lots of hugs and talking.

Friday my friends and I went to Paris for the weekend. We have had this trip planned for a long time. Would you be shocked if I said our plane got delayed over an hour and a half? Shocking right? When we got to Paris we checked into our Airbnb. It was right in the city, but honestly it was the perfect distance from everything. We were about a 20 minute tram ride from everything. Friday night we enjoyed a picnic in front of the Eiffle Tower and then walked the streets surrounding. We were able to see the tower in the day & night…I have to say at night it is absolutely MAGICAL! It sparkles with lights and it’s something I will not forget!

Saturday we walked through a pretty park, saw the outside of the Louvre, went inside D’Orsay, walked Champs Elysses, and saw Arc de Triumph. The D’Orsay was really cool because they have a Picasso exhibit right now and it was really cool to learn more about him and his work. We also found Starbucks in Paris and went a little crazy. We miss being able to have a “bigger” coffee that you can carry around and sip on. We probably enjoyed 2 a day.

Sunday was my favorite day of all! We went to Disneyland Paris which has been on my bucket list since I was 8. It’s crazy how the Disney parks are so much alike yet very different! They have some of the same rides, but they are still different. The Walt Disney Studios has Tower of Terror so that was the first ride of the day. It was cool because some of it was in French! Disneyland was all cute and decorated for Halloween. I was sad because Indiana Jones was closed, which is the ride I have heard is so much fun and very different from the California Disneyland. I collect Mickey Ears, and so I was able to buy a pair of Mickey Ears that has the Disney Paris castle on it and the Eiffle Tower, I’m excited to add them to my collection! We ate lots of Disney treats which is always a plus. At the end of the night we got to see the Firework show which is AMAZING!!!! What’s better than spending the weekend in Paris with your friends and celebrating Mickey’s 90th birthday? It doesn’t get much better.
