What were you grateful for this week? How easy it can be to travel within Europe on such short notice.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?My bus to Geneva was delayed by an hour, but it wasn’t so bad. I ended up getting breakfast at a nearby cafe during my wait!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. This week I joined the family for dinner on Sunday night and also helped [my host mom] give [my host family’s daughter] a bath. Apparently [she] is very particular when it comes to her bath time, but she was willing to let me help!

Tell us about your week! This week was very spontaneous. On Thursday I decided to take a day trip to Torino on Friday and then take a little weekend trip to Geneva, Switzerland.Torino is seriously such a beautiful city. I didn’t know what to expect and wasn’t planning on doing a whole lot. But when I got to Torino there was so much to do and see. I came across the Royal Palace of Turin which is also a museum. The tickets were inexpensive to get in so I decided, why not. It was really nice because there weren’t any big crowds and the museum itself was really cool. After the museum I walked around the Royal Garden behind the Palace which was peaceful. After the museum I walked around several of the shops and the rest of the city. I feel like Torino is such an underrated city! I loved it so much I plan to go back and visit again! On Saturday I took a five-hour bus ride to Geneva. To get to Geneva the bus had to travel through the Alps. The Alps were so breathtaking beautiful. I was able to see parts of the Alps where the leaves were changing colors and also see parts of the mountains where it began to snow. The bus also drove under Mont Blanc through the tunnel, which I never even knew existed until we actually began to drive through it. I also made a small stop in Chamonix, France which is a small little resort town in the Alps. The city of Geneva itself is amazing. I was able to walk through the shops and around Geneva Lake. The water in the lake was so clear and was the perfect temperature! The weather was perfect enough that people were still able to swim in the lake. I was also saw the Jet d’Eau, The Broken Chair, L’horloge de fleurie, and the Palace of Nations. And yes, the chocolate in Switzerland is as great as people say.
