What were you grateful for this week?Good friends.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?I’m so used to meeting up with S throughout the week and seeing my friends on the weekend, but I spent the last two weeks with my host family and it was really hard for me realizing that nobody was entirely understanding the things I said.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I don’t feel like I did anything awesome in particular, but for the first time, I feel like I did everything right/what was exactly expected of me.
Tell us about your week! This week has been everywhere on the spectrum. I was so excited to spend my weekend in Rome with all of the Rome Abroad girls in the area and we had so much fun! I visited Trevi Fountain, The Vatican (we almost saw the pope), the Spanish Steps, the Colosseum. I’d visited Rome before and I forgot HOW MUCH WALKING IT IS haha, my watch told me we walked 13 miles in one day and we were mind blown. My favorite part about this update was going to the original creator of fettuccine Alfredo (the restaurant is called Alfredo, whataya know?) The alfredo was so different than we were expecting, but it was amazing. We got grilled vegetables, an Italian beer and their bread was really great.
Although our weekends are always fun (and exhausting), it’s always great to come back to our little town and relax away from the big cities. Our trips are short, but I am usually pretty ready to come back and walk less than 22,000 steps a day haha. I really like playing board games with my kids, we played Headbanz today and it feels like family time back home! It’s also really great English practice and it’s an activity we both enjoy.
