What were you grateful for this week? Making new friends.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?Wearing bad shoes around Rome and Train delays that mess up all the changes and connections. Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I woke up at 7:30 everyday to take the boys to school while their dad was out of town. Tell us about your week! This week felt so long. Probably because I was so excited to go to Rome over the weekend with a few of the Rome Abroad girls. I’ve been to Rome before but this time was different. It’s really so great to be able to travel with the coolest group of girls…even if we just met. Our trip started off a little stressful. There were a couple train delays that caused us to miss our main train from Milan to Rome so we had to pay a little extra and take a later train. When we got to Rome we took a taxi to the city center area and had dinner. Pizza of course because what else is there in Italy??? After dinner we just wandered the streets. This has turned into one of my favorite things to do. I find so much happiness in walking around in Italy with the coolest people and saying to myself “we have no clue where we are going, but it’s fine.” I saw the cutest graffiti wall while we were walking that said, “Wherever you will go.” I think if this whole Italy experience was a book that would be the title of it. The next day we went to Vatican city. We didn’t know it was closed on Sundays so we didn’t go inside but the architecture and statues on the outside are still extremely beautiful and breathtaking. We were about 30 seconds too late from seeing the Pope walk out. I saw everybody cheering and waving to somebody with a lot of bodyguards and we found out later it was indeed, Pope Francis. After the Vatican we headed over to Trevi. We met up with C who was the sweetest and cutest tour guide for us. We saw all of the main tourist attractions in one day. By the end of the day I had almost 30,000 steps!!!!!! Sunday night we went to Alfredo all Scofa for dinner, which is the original birthplace for fettuccine alfredo. I had the best past I’ve ever had that night. I’m going back to Rome just for that pasta. After dinner we met up with S and a boy from Egypt. We jumped around to all the different Piazzas and it was so much fun. I love Rome and I especially love the people I’m traveling with. Up next, PARIS!!!!!!
