What were you grateful for this week? The little things. Like the cute little towns of italy.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? Honestly this week was perfect. I can’t think of any challenges or struggles I’ve had. I guess my biggest challenge this week was this question. This week/weekend was actually perfect.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I gave up a weekend trip to help my family out this weekend at their close friends’ wedding.
Tell us about your week! This past week and weekend was the absolute best. I had the opportunity to attend a real Italian wedding. The actual wedding was in a cute little church, they called it the “Love church”, in a town called Torre Alfina just outside of Rome. This little church was absolutely beautiful. From the outside it looked like an old cobblestone church but the inside was covered with beautiful murals and paintings all over the walls and ceilings. The reception was in a beautiful castle on the top of a hill. They told me the castle was older than America. There really are no words that can do this place justice. It was jaw dropping. Italian weddings are insane!! We ate for 6 hours straight. Afterwards they told me that was one of the shortest dinners they’ve had at a wedding. All of the rooms in the castle were filled with food and as you walked through you were supposed to try everything. When I got to the last room I was so stuffed I had to sit down but then a lady told me we just finished appetizers and we needed to head upstairs for the 5 course meal. After the dinner we went back downstairs and they had filled all the rooms with desserts. We ate dessert for another 2 hours. It was just crazy how much food we all ate. There was so much dancing and the whole night was filled with so much joy and love. The next day the celebration continued at the bride and groom’s cute farm house. They made even more food and we ate all afternoon. It was so amazing how kind everyone was to me. The bride especially, she gave me kisses on each cheek every time she saw me and made me feel so special. Italians are so friendly and welcoming and really made this weekend something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
