Tell us about your week! This week was different for sure. I stayed home most days with [my host family’s daughter] because she was sick. She’s very easy to take care of but I felt so bad [that] she was feeling ill. I tried to comfort her as much as possible and take care of her the best I could. She is now finally feeling better and back in school.
This weekend I did end up traveling again. I went to Cinque Terre with M2 (another Rome Abroad Traveler) and it was breathtaking! We explored for two days and made sure to see each of the five cities. I’m trying to figure out which one was my favorite but I honestly can’t. They were all amazing and unique in their own way.
We stayed at least a couple hours in each city and brought a guidebook with us. M2 bought this book by Rick Steves and he writes about all the things to see and do in each town, where to stay and where to eat. We followed the book pretty closely and got to see parts of the city I probably wouldn’t have if I went alone and without a guidebook.
These cities are on the coast so that means I was by the ocean for two days straight and it could not have made me feel better. I’ve decided the ocean is magical. I think anyone who comes to Italy should make it a point to go explore Cinque Terre.
