What were you grateful for this week?My two legs that let me explore beautiful cities.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?I got extremely homesick.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I’ve now gotten in the habit of clearing the dinner table and putting dishes in the dishwasher for the family. I like to help out where I can.

Tell us about your week! This week had its ups and downs. During the week I was so extremely homesick. I missed my friends and family so much it made my heart hurt. My friend M, who also lives here, definitely helped me push through it though.

On Thursday we met up with another girl in the program and had dinner. She’s awesome and actually the cousin of my best friend back home which makes it even better.

On Saturday I packed a bag and headed off to Rome! The first thing I saw was the Colosseum and it was so cool. I spent so much time just looking at it in amazement. I then walked through the city to the Trevi Fountain. Holy smokes that was amazing too! There were so many tourists around though it was hard to move.

I later checked into my Airbnb and I lucked out with that. It was very cheap, homey and relaxing. From there I headed to Saint Peter’s Square and that literally took my breath away. The huge structures and the church are so beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. I also just sat in aw for a while at that location. I kept thinking ‘how lucky am I to be able to see these monuments so conveniently.’ To end my day I walked around the city a bit more. Everywhere you look there’s an old original building that’s stunning in its own way. Rome was just what I needed to finish my week off on a high note.
