What were you grateful for this week?Everything, it seems.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? The most difficult part of my week was walking into the gym that I found. It’s intimidating enough to go into a new one, let alone in a country where you don’t speak their language.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I got to spend this weekend with the kids because my host parents had a wedding to attend out of town. I feel like I really went out of my way to make sure the house was in order when they arrived!

Tell us about your week! This week was very simple, but I really enjoyed it. I didn’t travel anywhere this weekend and I felt like less of a tourist. I’m used to the same coffee shops and bakeries, but this week I tried to go out of my way to explore a place that seemed so small before. I’ve done a lot of writing, reading, walking, eating, drinking new coffees and I’ve been able to set personal goals that involve more than just discovering how to feel comfortable in a foreign country.

Something that I really find important is exercise so I’ve been trying to go on jogs and do a few cardio workouts with S, but our schedules haven’t been lining up this week. To be totally frank, I hate cardio, I’m used to weight-lifting. There is a gym within 500ft of the place I’m staying and I finally found the courage to go in! The people were incredible. They’re all very passionate about the power of physical and mental strength so I decided to pay for a membership this month and now I feel like I true citizen in this city hahah.

I spent the weekend with the kids because my host parents were attending a wedding out of town and I expected it to be really tough, but it went so much smoother than I anticipated. I finally feel like I belong in their home and it’s a great feeling.
