What were you grateful for this week? This week there is a lot to be grateful for!! My host family is so great and the kids are the cutest. My host mom and the kids all took me out to a fancy lunch and then she made the yummiest fish for my first night with them.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? There’s nothing too difficult about dropping everything and moving to Italy…EXCEPT adjusting to the time difference!!! A lot of Tylenol P.M.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.Well all of the kids were very shy when I first arrived (which was yesterday) and would barely talk around me, but after a full day of lego’s and puzzles we’re all starting to become besties!!
Tell us about your week! I’ve been gone less than 2 weeks and I’ve already visited 14 cities and 4 different countries. I have already experienced so many “once in a lifetime” moments and my trip has just started. I’ve been able to check off so many things on my bucket list already like tapas in Spain, donkey rides in Greece, and buying real leather from Italy. It has been so amazing and I’m so excited to spend 3 more months traveling and seeing the world.
My host family lives in Milan, and of course the first day I got here I visited the Duamo and the famous mall right by it. It was amazing!! If you’re planning on visiting the Duamo beware of the men handing out corn outside of it. They grabbed my hand and put a handful of corn in it and started whistling before I knew it i had pigeons ALL OVER ME and everyone was laughing. I was a clueless tourist.
I got to meet my host family yesterday. They’re the nicest and cutest little family. They start school in a couple days so we are trying to get to know each other as well as we can until then. They were a little shy when I first arrived but after solving our 8th puzzle and a full day of playing with lego’s together they’re beginning to warm up to me.
